Our
American survivor has begun to speak. He says he does not remember his name or
why he jumped off his ship. I fear that he may have suffered some brain damage
from lack of oxygen while underwater. Even with his memory loss, he gives off
the impression of being very intelligent. He speaks Japanese fluently, and
asked if he could help around the ship. While the offer was polite, I told him
that he needed to spend his time here resting and recovering himself.
